Sharmini Winslow graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and went on to earn a Masters in Counselling from Monash University, Australia. Her unique experiences in the fields of the Performing Arts and Counselling have led her to develop a dynamic and innovative form of experiential therapy. She has recently (Feb 2021) been awarded the certification by the American Board of Examiners to be a Certified Practitioner of Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.
Sharmini has served at Changi Women’s Prison, Raffles Counselling Centre, The We Care Centre, Singapore General Hospital, KK Hospital, The Rainbow Centre, Executives in Corporations and Banks, the Breast Cancer Foundation and Dayspring Girls’ Home, infusing each institution with her zeal and dynamism.
Sharmini strives to release stress in her clients, and help them develop self-awareness. She brings a unique perspective to therapy, with 14 years as a Pilates practitioner and over 1000 hours of training and practices with the Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute and AANZPA (Aotearoa Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association).
She is actively involved in the 12 step recovery process, and her work with addicts is grounded in the principle of the Steps.
Her workshops – “Life is a Dance when you do the Steps” was showcased at an international conference in Scotland. Sharmini’s eclectic style of counselling and therapy in her Personal Growth Groups includes elements of bodywork, role play and the creative arts.
